No! is a good time. It's not really much else other than a good time. That's fine.

The reason that No! is interesting is that it's TMBG's attempt at a children's album that isn't complete dogshit, unlike... most children's albums. TMBG's music is already childish to a fault, especially given that a lot of their tracks are intentionally simplistic and resist interpretation. As a result, they're functionally perfect for the children's album genre.

They don't mince any of the sonic qualities they have, which is nice to hear. They take all these songs as seriously as they would a song for adults. The very title of No! feels like a rejection of loss of quality for kids albums; TMBW states that the Johns "were advised" to not use negative words, and so it's called this as a rejection of tropes and advice. There's a lot of fun samples (clocks, trains, ping-pong balls...) on it that's just very TMBG.

I don't have much else to say. Four of Two is fun because the original song had the narrator strangle himself from boredom after staring at the broken clock for too long.

I bet the John Lee in John Lee Supertaster's cock is huge. I bet he fucks.

I love the bassline and vocal mixing on just about every track on this album except Fibber Island, which has some deeply inexplicable vocal mixing.

It's fun. You'll have a good time. What do you want from me? Do you want a Burger King paper crown?
