Tulips (she/her) is a plural autistic lesbian Jewish white transgender woman currently residing in Philadelphia, PA. She is using third person in this statement because she has been told that it is professional, and I am also including a slurry of labels because I was also told that doing that is professional.
I am a writer and storyteller, and I make weird high-concept web fiction for people who have too many chemicals in their brain. My current main project is ARBITER, a story about aliens finding stuff, what it means to have a good idea, and the mortifying ordeal of being known. I've been working on it since the beginning of 2024, with spiralcomp assisting with multimedia. I also occasionally publish short stories, poetry, and stupid nonsense in other places.
My main artistic inspirations include the desolation and uncanny valley of suburban America, the nonlinearity of fragmented memory, experimental multimedia, lost history, relationship decay, revolutionary idealism, and webfiction. In university, I majored in mathematics and computer science, and it has left me with a permanent vendetta against any and all technology and academia at large. This distaste for technology, as well as my mathematical thinking, bleed into my work and prose.
My interests include writing (obviously), books, film, music (more specifically, the band The Mountain Goats), outdated technology, transit, philosophy, and learning about who makes the things we use without a second thought.
